The British Institute of NDT is an accredited independent certifying body. The institute certification services are marketed under the PCN Scheme, which has built up an international reputation for certification of personnel competence in the NDT and Condition Monitoring fields.

Safecontractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that external contractors and service providers working on their premises operate safely.

There is, therefore, a need to assess contractors health & safety arrangements, and increasingly this is being carried out through contractor. Many large organisations now use Safe contractor as their primary means of selecting contractors.

The CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme ensures a basic knowledge of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them, after appropriate site induction, to work on-site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others.

RoSPA is a society of dedicated members to reducing accidents in the workplace, on the road, at home, near or in water and leisure pursuits.

No other safety organisation has such a wide brief, which means that RoSPA has a unique overview of the techniques and practices involved in accident prevention.

SPA is committed to providing a nationally recognised standard of health and safety training and assurance, which is cost-effective, easily accessible, tests delegates the knowledge and caters for each industry sector.

Aimed at contractors who work in food and drink manufacturing, the SPA Passport food and drink training module focuses on hygiene and food safety, specific environmental issues and health and safety practices.

An internationally recognised mark of competence for people engaged in welding and inspection related jobs in manufacturing, constructing, operating or repairing high integrity welded structures, plant or components.

CSCS was set up in the mid-90s to improve site workers’ competence to reduce accidents and drive up on-site efficiency.

The Scheme keeps a database of those working in construction that achieve or demonstrate they have already attained an agreed level of occupational competence. Successful applicants are issued with a card giving them a means of identification and proof of their achievements. Cards are increasingly demanded as evidence of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others, and today there are over 1.7 million cards in circulation.
